Africa Youth Awards mission is to invest in the next generation of African leaders. Almost 60% of Africa’s population in 2019 was under the age of 25, making Africa the world’s youngest continent. According to the UN’s demographic projections, the median age in Africa is going to be 19.8 in 2020. By 2030, young Africans are expected to make up 42 percent of the world’s youth and account for 75 percent of those under age 35 in Africa.
Africa Youth Awards was launched in 2014 to celebrate and support young African leaders as they drive growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across sub-Saharan Africa.
Africa Youth Awards mission is to build the biggest community of young African leaders, and future African leaders. Africa Youth Awards is committed to mentoring, awarding and training our members, and providing our community with invaluable opportunities to connect with other leaders locally and globally.
Our ultimate mission is to develop over 100,000 young African leaders.
